Florence
Discover some of the less known and more
charming parts of the city, experience the view of
Ponte Vecchio from the perspective of a canoist and fall in love
with the birth place of Italian Renaissance.
The number of masterpieces that adorn this city are overwhelming.

From paintings, sculptures, buildings and culture, our Walking tours can ensure that you don’t miss out on such well-known sites as the Uffizi, Galleria dell’Accademia (where Michelangelo’s original David is housed), Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens and the Oltrarno.
Activities: Wake boarding
Water-skiing and Wakeboarding facilities are only half an hour from the city centre and can offer relief from the heat in those torrid Florentine afternoons in which a four-flavour extra cold ice cream is not enough to cool you down.
Set in an ex-gravel quarry, surrounded by trees and fields, our water-skiing and wakeboarding centre is fully equipped with a snack bar, deck chairs, beach volley court and table tennis. You will be one of the Kerkyra ’94 crew for a day, experiencing their passion for this discipline and delight in sharing their expertise.
Pierluigi“>Pierluigi will guide you through the basic wakeboarding techniques, but will also look after you with a light and tasty lunch created with and inspired by local products.
Canoeing under the bridge
One must not forget one of the most important elements of nature that defined Florence‘s existence, the ‘fiume Arno’.
Tuscanynwild organises tours starting from 10 kilometres upstream from Florence (where the Valdarno meets the Valdisieve) and ending at an interesting downstream vista, admiring the famous bridges of Florence from underneath, including the most famous of them all, the Ponte Vecchio.
Passing the Ponte Vecchio from underneath gives a different perspective of the city that not many visitors get to experience.
Led by Niccoló Tuscanynwild’s canoeing instructor, you will able to appreciate the rapids and the architectural gem that is the Ponte Vecchio.
Activities: paragliding like Leonardo
Are you in search of something a bit more daring?
Then how about making the famous Leonardo da Vinci go green with envy by taking a paragliding tandem flight over the hills of Certaldo.
The poor man has been scratching his head for decades trying to find a way to fly like the mythical hero Icarus but, for you, it is as easy as a click.
Tuscanynwild’s paragliding instructor Walter“>Walter will provide you with an adrenaline rush and plenty of memories of the stunning countryside view from the sky.
Leisure: Ballooning above the Chianti
Dangling from a parachute, not your thing?
Then why not just sit back and enjoy the view of the Florentine countryside in pure comfort from one of our hot air balloons flown by Ivan, our experienced pilot.
Experience the view over the woodlands and vineyards that characterise the area, followed by a landing in a vineyard and a Chianti picnic with some of the tastiest local gastronomic products and, of course, samples of what the vineyard really has to offer.

Eating in Florence
Here in the capital of the region we have a great gastronomic tradition.
Some of the most renowned dishes are: Fritti misti (shallow fried artichokes, courgettes and courgette flowers), pappardelle alla lepre (pasta with hare meat sauce), pappa al pomodoro (tomatoes, Tuscan bread, garlic, basil minestrone soup), ribollita (a soup based on Tuscan bread, black cabbage and other garden vegatables) and, for the less squeamish, the lampredotto, the Florentine stile tripe is famous in the whole of Italy.
