The school of Windsurf Talamone is located
in a bay where thermal wind blows from April to
October and, in other parts of the year, the wind
is not always so regular.

This location has been chosen not only for the regularity of the winds (which are fundamental for windsurfing), but also for its geographical position that, despite the winds, the water surface remains flat for at least the first two miles from shore. Also, the low level of water facilitates the training. On a normal day in Talamone, conditions are just right to take on the first exercises with winds of between 8 to 10 knots. You will then move on to local thermal winds that reach 14 to 28 knots, which rise at approximately 12:00 pm on days with high pressure.

At the school, you will be able to learn and improve your skills through the 6 levels:

P1 – Beginners

For the first level, you will be using modern boards designed for beginners allowing you to quickly learn how to start, different paces, and the change of direction. By the end of this course, you will be able to surf in mild wind, starting and finishing from the beach.

P2 – Advanced

In the second level, you will learn how to save energy, improve technique and style, the fast change of direction and perfecting the gybed and beach-start, following with the use of trapeze and fast paces. You will start in the water and be able to surf for 150m in both directions and recover the board with the body-drag.

AF3 – Allround fun

Now it is time to glide! You can finally join the fantastic world of the fun-board, starting with the correct use of the straps, leading to the gliding and to the techniques of manoeuvrability for the board involving the use of feet.

Water Start

This level will include techniques for water start, surfing at close reach, and the use of shorter boards.

FUN

At this point, you will prepare to use free-ride boards, and work on manoeuvrability power-gybing with strong wind.

Special Fun: It’s Show Time!

Slam-jibe, lay-down, duck-jibe, 360°, push-tack, jumps e loops, are only some of the tricks that you will learn at this level and it is up to you to choose which ones you want to learn.
