Glider

Fly like a bird

The glider uses the same technique as the large migratory
birds, exploiting the air currents allowing an effortless glide.

Glider

Thanks to the Aeroclub Volovelistico del Mugello, Tuscanynwild can offer a peaceful and quiet way to experience the breathtaking view from the sky above the Mugello countryside not far from the Chianti countryside. The only requirement is a minimum age of 12, but you are more likely to feel like you are 12 at the end of the half hour flight. You will be flying in a two-seater tandem glider, sitting behind one of our expert pilots (or an instructor) enjoying the view through the transparent roof of the glider with nothing but the delicate sound of the wind as a soundtrack.

Gliding, like all aeronautical sports, is strictly regimented by the weather conditions. As nature varies these conditions constantly, the flight can only be properly planned on the same day of the flight.

Depending on conditions on the day, you could either rise to a high altitude of 2,000 meters brushing the clouds, or glide at low altitude over the Apennines, almost touching the tree tops and peaks. You will be able to bring your camera with you (as long as it is a reasonable size) and you are required to bring a hat and sunglasses to protect you from the sun.

The Aeroclub has, at its disposal, a fleet of four two-seater gliders and two glider tow planes. The gliders can have quite different characteristics, some are more technical (to satisfy the expert pilots requirements) and allow them to evolve in cross country and competitive activities. Other gliders are more elementary to train the less experienced pilots.
