Casa Cheli is a beautiful Tuscan stone farmhouse
set within the rolling hills of the Chianti countryside
nestled amongst olives groves, vineyards, cypresses
and hundred-year old chestnut trees. Casa Cheli is situated 19 km from Florence on tuscanynwild.com”>Florence along the Chianti Rufina wine road and sits at approximately 500m above sea level, enjoying a breathing taking view of the Sieve River Valley.
At Casa Cheli, the apartments are large and spacious and the Cheli family (Michele, Vanna, Orlando and Massimo) offer many services to make your Tuscan holiday a more enjoyable one, such as cooking courses, nearby events, guided walks of the countryside, and more.
On Casa Cheli’s farm, you can visit the stalls of Casacheli’s Calvana cows. These cows are a sturdy breed native to Tuscany and have recently come under threat of extinction. The Cheli family are actively assisting in attempts to revive the breed.
The farm is also home to wild and domestic pigs, roosters and horses, which guests with children often enjoy.
The cantina and olive oil “Frantoio” can also be visited during your stay with Casa Cheli and their products are also for sale including: extra virgin olive oil, honey, forest mushrooms, liqueurs and marmalade made by Vanna herself.
The location of Casa Cheli is also ideal for hiking, trekking, mountain biking and horse riding. Whether you are after a casual nature walk, or a full-day’s hiking, the forest is at your disposal! Sport fishing and horse riding are only a kilometre away and mountain bike rentals are also nearby.
Half a kilometre away is Castle of Montefiesole. Here you can see the ruins, its history and visit its ongoing excavation.
